Launched this week across the globe, Tourme is the new travel & tour app set to change the way people travel.
Tourme matches travellers with local experts for personalised and themed travel tours created by the locals themselves (chosen through a rigorous selection process). So if you’ve got only a few days in a city, or have just arrived, and want to avoid the tourist traps, book in with a Tourme guide and discover the charming backstreets, the best night spots, the famous and less known attractions and local specialities, all stress free, while creating vivid and wonderful life long memories.
Tourme was born after a successful father/ daughter quest for pineapple picking farms in Maui. The experience inspired the desire to help others find memorable and authentic local experiences around the world. Serious work started in 2015 with an expert team in place and a two year development process. Now 10, 000 potential travel guides in 100 countries are geared up for playing host to tourists, ready to share their insider tips and little black books of local addresses as soon as you arrive.
Tourme offers four types of tours. Find a Tour and Shore Excursions offer comprehensive tours, often with a theme (walking tours, night life, main attractions, street art etc). Instant Tour will present you with locals with transport who can pick you up and drive you around town to places you’d like to see or great spots that they can suggest. Finally, Find a Guide will allow you to have a local (native or integrated expat) on hand to go at your own pace, weather it’s for a stroll through the prettier parts of town, a visit to a specific sight, a shopping spree or simply to meet you at your hotel bar for a drink to help take you through your options for your time in town with their expert advice.
For example: take a Rome by Night or a Pompei day trip tour with Pietro, Roman tour guide since 1985 , go on a shopping spree with Lauren, New York girl about town, take a Tango tour (class, concert and dance) with Fransisco in Buenos Aires, go on a fascinating historical walk in Moscow with writer Anastasia or discover Paris by night (or day) with a travel, culture & lifestyle reporter Ruby (oui c’est moi!).
