The Sapphires to wrap the 1st Aboriginal Film Festival, Paris

The first Aboriginal Film Festival is in mid run in Paris. Artistically directed by Greta Morton, the festival provides Parisian audiences with another take on Australian cinema with films from talented Australian indigenous storytellers and filmmakers including Warwick Thornton, Tony Briggs, Rachel Perkins, Ivan Sen and Wayne Blair. During the wintery weather, what better way to pass the weekend than with a good yarn with visual flair in a cute arthouse cinema in the Latin Quarter. Check out the full program here.

The festival opened with Ivan Sen’s Toomelah and will be closing with the Wayne Blair’s treat of a film The Saphhires on Sunday 20:30. Here’s a taste of the film and our interview with Blair, producer Rosemary Blight and writer Tony Briggs when they were presenting the film at Cannes.
