My festival nearly ends on day two – as I swing past the Sagrada Familia and take a left past the hords of tourists minutes before class, I realise I’ve forgotten socks! With blisters still fresh from Omar Edwards in Paris last week, this lack of attention to detail (as Pachino would put it) could cost me my festival!
Luckily, a little Indian (store) on the corner saves the day and take the opportunity for other essentials such as hair pins (class is hot!) note book (fresh, checked and to be dedicated to tap), pink lip gloss (for inspiration) and a fan.. very necessary between class ventilation).
Tap tap tap and the quote of the day is from Chloe during her pick up exercises (back wards x 4, forwards x 4, wing x4, heel x4; backwards x 4, forwards x 4, shuffles x4, knock x 4): “and if you’re still breathing we’ll do it again’.. and un/luckily we were. Just!
Am wearing one of Chloe’s t-shirts I bought yesterday that reads ‘I love tap’ (she has a clothing line) and by the end of the pick ups and another round of manic flaps leading to sit ups, push ups and pick up knock frenetic routine I’m thinking of vandalising the heart … then push past the pain and enjoy the routine!
Am slightly numb with heavy legs for Guillem’s class and have decided to keep to three classes and take Jason’s masterclasses on the weekend… so stretch and home to meditate for twenty minutes as advised in Yasmin’s Paris tarot reading. Need it as there is another jam tonight.
