There’s a blue, cloudless sky in Barcelona and while the locals in Gracia sip a morning wine or espresso and cigarette (seems strange now but people can still smoke inside in Spain), I slurp a strong cafe con leche and contemplate if I will take three or four classes a day during the Tap On Barcelona festival which starts this morning. The difference between emergence and overloading is slight. (Now… where are those blister packs I bought?)
Jason Samuels Smith, Sebastien Weber, Chloe Arnold, Guillem Alonso, Luis Mendez are just some of the choices… so it’s difficult. The disappointing news is that the request for the sand dance class with Guillem opposite the beach has been denied by council. Ridiculous as in 2008 was the highlight of the festival for both participants and public and we all signed up as at least we knew we would be spending two hours on the beach each evening!
But there as sure to be other surprises and the program involves jams, concerts, classes, talks and fiestas. Stay tuned here for daily updates, interviews and tap driven insights.
And in the meantime… here’s last year’s memoires…
