The Paddington store and day spa offers adapted body treatments for clients with a wide range of techniques from shiatsu to reiki. Each client has a unique package concocted with a brief chat at the beginning of the two hour treatment .
Today I’m feeling a winter slump. I want to get clarity and wake up my body, mind and spirit. I’m in luck. Not only has owner (of the shop and the label) Jeannie organised my session with Fleur (the fantastic therapist I had last time), I also have Japanese aroma therapy and massage specialist Kayo.
The session begins with a white sage burning to clean the room then it’s into a four handed massage that quite simply feels like being worked on by angels. As I relax further there is a sea salt and essential oils body polish to clean the skin. There’s a lemon body butter to rehydrate, hot stone massage to oxygenate the body and relax the muscles and mind and a remedial massage of the perfect medium pressure to get in deep but with comfort . I’m given selenite crystal balls to hold that symbolise new beginnings and a connection to a higher/best self.
Next is the facial- starting with a steamer with ‘lux’ oil- spearmint, geranium and bergamot to centre and balance, working on the circulation and nervous system, then lithos- a hot and cold marble treatment. We finish with a jazmin oil moisture surge and a thick clay mask for the skin to absorb the moisture, with a clear quartz crystal placed on my chest. Energy work has been done throughout the session.
After, relaxed ad refreshed, I sip ginger and honey juice while talking through the treatment with Fleur and Kayo, looking up some of the flower benefits from their encyclopaedias.
When I waft out, it’s with a bag of goodies, including a ‘temple water perfume’ that’s organic jasmin, said to inspire divine hope. It’s really just what I needed.
