I spent over seven months researching and writing this book, exploring Paris’ incredible art offerings by day and night and meeting with artists, curators, auction house heads, art fair directors, museum owners, gallerists, private collectors, and art lawyers. Also, I hit the libraries and art bookshops and attended the art openings, the fairs, the live drawing classes, the open door festivals as well bidding at an art auction and exploring the rich street art scene. To mix things up, I headed out of Paris on a series of day trips to experience the classic and lesser known art havens. Along the way, I photographed the people and places. Then I guzzled coffee and hibiscus tea and kept warm in the gorgeous arty Parisian cafés and palace hotels (with -6 temperature outside) while condensing the information and interviews down to bite sized, easy to digest, inspirational texts.
