A splash of colour during an overcast afternoon in Paris under the picturesque Bir Hakeim bridge…
After getting a call from Finnish tap dancer Jussi Lindroos keen to come back to Paris for a small project, we booked in a few sessions at The Basement Studio beneath Montmartre then took the Finnish tap boards to the beautiful Buttes Chaumant park to get down some of Jussi’s rhythms and develop them for a little six foot a capella. Despite beautiful sunny late summer days in Paris for the rehearsals, the day of filming was overcast… Paris didn’t want us to give a false impression perhaps. But even under grey skies, Paris is still beautiful and as we tapped away under the iconic bridge with the Eiffel tower as our backdrop, locals and tourists jogging, strolling, riding and driving by, the colour come back into the day.
Thanks to Olivia Rutherford for her fun, striking images (out 6th project together after the clips for Paris Tap Crew, Le Shuffle Project, Belleville Pho for Crop the Block, a Wendy Lee Taylor video and a teaser for my travel show), Zulma Rouge for her crisp edit (third clip together after Cannes Film Festival wrap and the music video for Wendy Lee Taylor), my once cabaret buddy Magali Billout for playing our chirpy assistant/sound girl and the Arts Council of Varsinais-Suomi.
Hope you enjoy listening/watching!
